Dubai: Health authorities in Abu Dhabi have updated the home quarantine guidelines that need to be followed in the emirate, if you have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive patient.
The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH) and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC) issued the update on July 6.
The process that needs to be followed varies depending on whether you have been vaccinated or not.
I have been vaccinated
If you have been fully vaccinated, follow these steps:
Quarantine period – Seven days
Day 6 – PCR test
The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test needs to be taken on Day 6. The PCR test is conducted for free for those registered in the home quarantine programme at the centres listed below.
Day 7 – Remove wristband
If you have tested negative, you can visit any of the centres listed below to have the wristband removed.
I have not been vaccinated
If you have not received the COVID-19 vaccine, follow these steps:
Quarantine period – 12 days
Day 11 – PCR test
The PCR test must be taken on Day 11. The PCR test is conducted for free for those registered in the home quarantine programme at the centres listed below.
Day 12 – Remove wristband
If you have tested negative, you can visit any of the centres listed below to have the wristband removed.
Where can I go for a free PCR test?
All those registered for home quarantine can conduct a free walk-in PCR test and remove the wristband at the following centres:
1. Zayed Port Centre, Mafraq Hospital, ADNEC, Abu Dhabi
2. Al Ain Convention Centre, Al Khubiaisi
3. Al Dhafra – Madinat Zayed, as well as all Seha Hospitals.
