The programme, announced on Tuesday, January 21, invites participants to complete a fully sponsored one-year postgraduate diploma in education. Upon successful completion, candidates will be employed in charter schools across Abu Dhabi, shaping the future of education in the emirate.

UAE nationals and expatriate residents in UAE.
Bachelor’s degree (in any field) from an accredited university.
Be above the age of 25.
The programme is a recruitment initiative designed to open the door to teaching for individuals from all sectors. It encourages professionals from various fields to bring their life or work experience into the classroom. The programme offers a fully sponsored, one-year accredited postgraduate diploma in education, aimed at training individuals to become qualified teachers within Abu Dhabi's Charter Schools.
In partnership with Abu Dhabi University, Al Ain University, and Emirates College for Advanced Education, the programme provides a unique opportunity to develop teaching skills. Whether you aspire to work as a full-time or part-time teacher, a substitute teacher, or a tutor, this postgraduate diploma will equip you with the necessary tools.
If selected, candidates are required to commit to full-time study, as much of the programme takes place during working hours. Upon successful completion of the diploma, candidates will be hired as teachers in Abu Dhabi’s Charter Schools.

You will also need to submit a short, two-minute video explaining why you want to become a teacher. The video is mandatory, and your application will not be considered complete without it.
Where will the training take place?
Training will be conducted at one of the following universities:
Abu Dhabi University
Al Ain University
Emirates College for Advanced Education
The first cohort will consist of 125 candidates. If you are not selected for this initial group, you can still apply directly to one of the universities offering the diploma to pursue a teaching career at a later date.
For this year’s first cohort, eligible candidates will receive full sponsorship from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
Candidates selected for the programme will have their tuition fees fully covered. However, they will only be entitled to a salary once they successfully complete the programme and begin teaching in Charter Schools.
The programme is primarily conducted in person, with some online sessions offered at the discretion of the institution. It combines theoretical and practical training, delivered across both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
The schedule varies depending on the university, but most programmes require attendance between three to five days a week. Detailed scheduling information will be provided to selected candidates along with their enrolment confirmation.
The programme will be offered at one of three universities: Al Ain University, Abu Dhabi University, or Emirates College for Advanced Education.
Candidates at Al Ain University can choose to take the programme in either English or Arabic. However, all candidates must have a minimum level of English proficiency, as certain core subjects will only be taught in English.
The course is designed to equip candidates with a strong understanding of teaching strategies, curriculum design, and student assessment. Through a combination of theory and practical training, successful candidates will:

Create tailored educational activities to meet the needs of students and align with curriculum requirements.
Design evaluation tools that accommodate individual student differences.
Apply modern teaching strategies and educational technology effectively.
Manage classrooms, communicate effectively, and foster positive learning environments.
Upon completion of the programme, successful candidates will have developed:
Effective classroom management and behaviour control techniques.
Leadership and communication skills.
Strategies for motivating and engaging students.
Proficiency in using educational technology in teaching and assessments.
