The UAE Fatwa Council has announced the designated amount for Zakat Al Fitr for 2025. Who must pay Zakat Al Fitr?

Zakat Al Fitr is a mandatory charity that must be given before the end of Ramadan. It is obligatory for all Muslims, including men, women, children, and the elderly, provided they are financially capable of giving the required amount, either in food or monetary form.

According to Dubai's Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), Zakat Al Fitr must be paid on behalf of every Muslim, regardless of age. Traditionally, it is given in the form of staple food items such as rice or grains. However, some Islamic scholars permit it to be paid in cash to support those in need.
