Dubai: The Al Fahim Group's Emirates Motor Company (EMC) said it will open the world's largest Mercedes-Benz facility in the Mussafah district of Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2009.

Spanning one million square feet, the new EMC headquarters will feature a 4,382 square metre showroom, 20,873 square metre service centre with over 250 work-bays, 7,196 square metres for spare parts, a multi-storey parking lot and staff accommodation.

Saeed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, chairman of Al Fahim Group, said: "The new facility underscores our continuous efforts in setting industry standards and relentlessly working towards achieving them. Establishing the largest mixed-use Mercedes-Benz facility in the world will mark the realisation of one of the company's key objectives, while placing Abu Dhabi on the global map for cutting-edge automotive centres.

"The new EMC facility will also reflect the rich partnership legacy that we share with Mercedes-Benz. We believe the landmark facility will further consolidate our business relationship and help us cater to the growing consumer base in the region."

Unique design

Incorporating unique design elements reflecting the corporate identities of both Mercedes-Benz and the Al Fahim Group, the new facility will feature panoramic lifts, glass exteriors and environmentally sustainable concepts, symbolising the group's core values.

The new premises will include an air-conditioned drive-in reception area and an air-conditioned workshop to allow customers to inspect their vehicles while being serviced. Additionally, it will be equipped with Wi-Fi technology and host a well-appointed food court.
