BTS have a distinct energy when travelling: Here's how to get it right, when you plan your travel trips

If you have been a seasoned ARMY long enough, you would know the BTS travel guide well and maybe quietly applied their tips to your itinerary too. Maybe you planned like RM, strolling through museums, or just soaked in the countryside. Perhaps, you did several different things in one day like Jin, who enjoys his fishing escapes more than anything else. Or, how about V, who turns his trips into an editorial shoot?

Truth is, you can learn from these global superstars, how explore the world. So, pack your bags (and maybe a photocard or two), here’s how to travel like BTS.

Travel like RM: The culture collector

RM (Kim Namjoon) loves his museums. Art is his lifeline. So, while most tourists rush through landmarks, RM slows down. He strolls through galleries, strolls through gardens, and journals his way through cities like a modern philosopher.

RM-style travel tips:

  • Skip the crowds and visit local museums, quiet bookstores, and public gardens.

  • Carry a travel journal and take time to reflect, not just post.

  • Walk slowly, observe everything, and Google the artist behind every statue you pass.

  • Neutral tones, cosy fits, and a good playlist are essential. Just don't drop your phone in water like poor RM did.

Travel like Jin: Chill mode, activated

Jin does several relaxing things in a day, and then posts it all on Instagram later, perhaps confusing ARMYs. But that's Jin, an introvert, who isn't chasing photo opps, just peace. Look for solo seafood dinners, quiet lake views, and luxury stays with all the comforts.

Jin-style travel tips:

  • Don’t overplan. Prioritise sleep, scenic views, and long meals.

  • Embrace solo travel. Jin once flew to a remote island on his own just to relax and eat well.

  • Choose experiences that make you happy, whether that’s fishing or spa time. Maybe a trip to a fruit garden?

  • Keep the trip low-key, but your selfie game high.

Travel like V: And it's not just Paris

Yes, it’s true, V loves his Paris game. He probably knows every corner of the city by now, and honestly, Paris knows him too. But beyond the French flair, V is an aesthetic explorer. He travels like he’s living in a black-and-white art film. And with him, there’s no in-between — it’s either fully romanticised, or we get a confusing Instagram post of just a slipper from his vacation. But one thing’s for sure: whatever he’s doing, he’s having the time of his life.

V-style travel tips:

  • Pack like a fashion editor. Think vintage coats, scarves, and a camera — preferably film.

  • Go off the beaten path. A random alleyway could be your next favorite photo. And next, post random photos on Instagram, that your followers will keep trying to puzzle out.

  • Let your senses guide you. Smells, sounds, mood, all part of the vibe.

  • Turn quiet moments into cinematic ones. Make your own storyline.

Travel like J-Hope: High Vibes, maximum style

J-Hope turns every trip into a celebration. His travel energy is pure joy: Bold outfits, good food, great playlists, and a constant eye for creativity. And yes, cute, quirky selfies. He brings the party, wherever he is.

J-Hope-style travel tips:

  • Dress like the runway is the sidewalk. Colour, layers, statement pieces — go big.

  • Document the details: Window reflections, funky signage, street art.

  • Find the best coffee shop or brunch spot and make it your base.

  • Travel with a soundtrack. J-Hope’s playlists are a mood on their own.

Travel Like Suga: Quiet, low-key but so much fun

Suga travels like someone who’s seen the world, and now only wants the good parts. No chaos, no tourist traps, no overpacking. Just good coffee, good music, and a quiet place to think. If you remember his vacation in Malibu, Suga just spent quiet time interacting with different artists, and he said, "I’ve just learned that vacations are this much fun. I’ll have to think about ways to live enjoyably.”

And, indeed he does.

Suga-style travel tips:

  • Prioritise quality over quantity.

  • Look for destinations with culture and calm: Jazz clubs, art hotels, quiet bars, and good ramen.

  • Travel light, dress effortlessly sharp, and keep your headphones close. And don't forget your beanies.

  • Give yourself space to not do anything. That’s still part of the journey.

Travel like Jimin and Jungkook

We all need a friend to travel with, and Jimin, Jungkook set the standard high after their variety show Are You Sure. And, we're getting more of it. This duo proves you can chase adrenaline by day and romanticise sunsets by night. Their travel energy is a mix of soft-hearted stillness and spontaneous 'let’s go' chaos, and somehow, it works.

More importantly, make sure food is the main character in your vacation. There, that's the only tip here.
