Zubeen – Zindagi
Alaap
In his debut album Zubeen – Zindagi, music composer Alaap showcases Zubeen Garg, the impressive singer from northeast India. Alaap's tunes are an eclectic mix of sufi, folk, Bollywood and Western pop-rock styles with heavy emphasis on guitars, synthesizers and Western drums.

Garg earlier made his mark with his robust rendition of the Gangster song Yaa Ali. In this album also, he excels in emotionally intense, rhythmic songs such as Zindagi Kahin Gum Hai, Jia Re, Nazren Karam Ho and Jia Lage Na. Other melodious numbers include Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan's Tu Hi Tu Hai and Chitra's Pal Pal Bekal and Shaam Dhal. Though a promising debut album, it feels as if Zindagi could have done with a little more original treatment.

Pure Gold
Lata Mangeshkar

This celebratory special album commemorates Lata Mangeshkar's 79th birthday on September 28. It features some of the best songs of her long and prolific career, including milestone hits such as Aayega Aanewala, Aaja Re Pardesi, Man Dole Mera Tan Dole, Nainon Mein Badra Chhaye, Naina Barse and Bindiya Chamkegi.

Mummyji (OST)
Various artistes
This album, composed by Aadesh Shrivastava, dishes out a largely unimpressive staple of Punjabi dance numbers such as Richa Sharma's I Wanna Rock Like Mummyji and Shrivastava and Neha Bhasin's Kudiye Pataka. Among the better songs on the album are Sonu Nigam's upbeat Mujhko Tu Pyar Kara De and Hariharan's somber Hum Tum Akele Rah Gaye.

You're My Love Remix
Various artistes

Targeted specifically at the dance-crazy Generation Next, this compilation includes an enjoyable selection of fast and furious foot-stomping music from the latest Bollywood movies such as the tracks You're My Love from Partner, Tadap from Darling, Dholna from Heyy Babyy, Ke Bin Tere from Aggar and Woh Ajnabi from Train.
