Vivah ost
Ravindra Jain
After a long hiatus, veteran composer Ravindra Jain returns to his favourite camp: Rajshri Productions. Taking a leaf out of his own past blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Kaun film-maker Suraj Barjatya has made Vivah into an engagement-cum-marriage ceremonial extravaganza and Jain's music caters to the festive mood.
The album starts off with three hummable romantic duets: Mujhe Haq Hai, Do Anjaane Ajnabi and Milan Abhi Aadha Adhura.
After establishing the love-factor, the album now moves on to the festive fun and frolic with numbers such as Tere Dware Pe Aayi Baraat and O Jiji. Finally, the focus shifts to traditions and family ties through songs such as Jai Gauri Maa. Unfortunately, many of the songs sound like a rehash of some old popular numbers. So despite a melodius score, the album leaves no lasting impression.
Woh Lamhe ost
Pritam
DJ-turned-composer Pritam continues his impressive run in the Bhatt-camp and delivers yet another interesting soundtrack. K.K. grabs the spotlight with a lively romantic number Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai. Similar is the case with So Jaun Main, which appears twice - once sung by Kunal Ganjawalla and then by Shreya Ghoshal. All in all, a good buy.
The Music Mafia
Himesh & Emraan
From the success of path-breaking Aashiq Banaya Aap Ne success, it was evident that the lip-locking Emraan Hashmi and Bollywood's rock star Himesh Reshammiya are meant for each other. This album could easily be an ode to their success. Apart from their hits together the album also throws in some of their individual hits. With solo blockbuster songs like Dil Diya Hai, Laagi Chhute Na and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, this album entertains.
Taranga
Prem Joshua
Prem Joshua's uniquely global interpretation of Indian classical and folk music makes this album a treat. Joshua's mastery over multiple instruments and the soothing yet complex sounds he creates in his music are apparent on this album. One can clearly feel the waves of joy and enthusiasm emanating from the songs in this album.
