Debojit
Debojit

Among thousands of hopefuls and amidst lot of drama and controversy, Debojit won Zee TV's prestigious Saregamapa Best Singer award. The win ensured that he would get an opportunity to tailor his own album, where top composers such as Biddu and Ismail Darbar would compose songs for him. Here's that debut album.

The album begins with the soft romantic ballad Jeena, which has pretty peculiar lyrics like My Heart Goes Damma Damma. Apart from this song, there are some dance-tracks such as Teri Dua Se and Tu Meri Aarzoo, and remixes such as Ek Haseena Thi and O Humdum Suniyo Re.

It is hard to understand why a new talented singer was made to take the easy way out by singing remixed versions of already popular songs but that's the way today's music industry operates. Overall, Debojit has a versatile macho voice and especially his singing in Ismail Darbar's testing sentimental tune - Tu Dil Hai Mera shows a lot of promise.

Apna Sapna Money Money
Pritam

Keeping in mind the comic theme of the movie, Pritam comes up with a fast, frothy and frivolous kind of music. Taking assignments by the dozen seems to be affecting the quality of his work as most of the numbers sound run of the mill. The title track Jai Jai Money (Sukhvinder Singh, Rana Muzumdar and Bob) is funny and peppy.

Kranti/Nidhata
Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Kalyanji-Anandji

This twin soundtrack-combo presents the music of the eighties. Laxmikant-Pyarelal's Kranti presents two good romantic duets, Zindagi Ki Na Toote Ladi and Lui Shamasha, both of which are sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Nitin Mukesh. Kalyanji-Anandji's Vidhata features some catchy popular numbers such as Asha Bhosle's Udi Baba.

Aaye Din Bahar Ke/Aaya Sawan Jhoomke
Laxmikant Pyarelal

This double soundtrack album is a throwback to the days of '60s and '70s. Laxmikant-Pyarelal come up with many melodious tracks in both films. Lata Mangeshkar's Suno Sajna and Mohammed Rafi's Mere Dushman are top numbers from Aaye Din Bahar Ke. Rafi's Maanjhi Chal is another gem.
