We love it when brands go beyond just lip service for their causes. Davidoff, behind the bestselling Cool Water fragrance, has released a new film featuring its ambassador, the actor Scott Eastwood (son of Clint Eastwood). The film is an extension of Davidoff Cool Water’s Love the Ocean campaign along with National Geographic Society’s Pristine Seas project, which aims to protect 10 per cent of the world’s ocean by 2020.

Cool Water, the fragrance, was inspired by the ocean.

“As individuals, we have more power to change the world than we think,” says Eastwood, who was born in California and raised in Hawaii and feels a special connection to the ocean. “It starts with one — one hour of your time, one day, one piece of trash.”

Shot near his home in San Diego, the film highlights Eastwood’s commitment to fighting water pollution issues. It also features a beach clean-up organised in partnership with the National Geographic Society and the Surfrider Foundation.

According to a report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation released earlier this year, by 2050, the ocean will contain more plastic than fish when measured by weight.
