Armani fragrances are to help raise money to provide the world's children with drinking water
The Italian designer's latest project is a charitable cause that you can actually believe in: there's nothing wishy-washy about it, except that it aims to provide access to drinking water — a minimum of 40 million litres worldwide — to populations without any access to it, primarily children.
Armani's going about this the best way he knows how: by selling special editions of two of his massively popular fragrances and giving 100 litres of drinking water per scent bought.
The two fragrances are, naturally, the classic Acqua di Gio and the new Acqua di Gioia. From World Water Day (which took place on Tuesday this week), a special Acqua For Life edition of Acqua di Gio and Acqua di Gioia went on sale exclusively at Debenhams and VaVaVoom in the Middle East.
Every bottle sold will generate a donation of 100 litres of drinking water per year to children and their communities, with the operation beginning in Ghana, where 40 per cent of the rural population does not have access to drinking water.
