Dubai: And you thought designer shoes were expensive.

In Dubai, you can now try one these pairs of shoes that cost over Dh120,000.

Italian designer Antonio Vietri launched the women’s collection of jewellery encrusted shoes on the first day of Leatherworld Middle East 2017, which runs from April 30 to May 2, 2017 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Last year, Vietri caught the eye of visitors when he launched a collection of golden loafers in Dubai that were priced at Dh1200,000-Dh300,000.

The Turin native’s newest high-end niche range that features silk pumps engraved with gold or silver, and interested buyers can also customise them with pearls, Swarovski crystals, or diamonds.

In a statement, Vietri said: “I’m delighted to officially unveil my women’s collection at Leatherworld Middle East 2017, following the resounding success of the global launch of my men’s collection at the show last year.”

 

“Gulf consumers love exclusivity and luxury that’s entirely unique, and I’m excited to present customers and retailers something completely different from anything they’ve seen before,” he said.

Vietri is one of more than 50 exhibitors from 16 countries at Leatherworld Middle East 2017.

The annual three-day event also features show highlights, such as the Trend Area, an exclusive showcase of exotic leather innovations seen for the first time.

Visitors can also indulge themselves in the world of fashion, where the UAE’s most talented designers from ESMOD Dubai, French Fashion Institute, are showcasing their creative flair with an inspiring array of leather garments, bags, and shoes.

Other exhibitors at the three-day event include leather production for tanneries and dealers of semi-finished and finished animal hides, in addition to a dedicated section for mid to high-end leather footwear.
