Delhi 2 Dublin take centre stage at the Global Village
Delhi 2 Dublin will mix hip-hop and electronic beats as well as traditional Punjabi percussion influences
Vancouver-based Delhi 2 Dublin will take centre stage at the Global Village in Dubai today and tomorrow. Part of the Global Grooves World Music concert series, the free performance will see the five-member band fuse various sounds from around the world.
Made up of members from different backgrounds and musical influences, Delhi 2 Dublin will mix hip-hop and electronic beats as well as traditional Punjabi percussion influences and Celtic sounds, say organisers.
Other performances for Global Grooves include Filipino all-girl pop group La Divas on December 22 and Dubai-based Colombia singer Fatiniza on December 29.
Global Village, which features 28 pavilions from over 41 countries showcasing heritage and handicrafts, is scheduled to run until February 29 next year.
