No room to pray inside

Worshippers forced to pray outside under the sun, risking sunstroke and dehydration

Last Friday I was at my home, watching the beautiful scenery from our balcony and it was a very hot, humid day.

Close to prayer time I saw a lot of people rushing to the mosque located inside Al Majaz Park in Sharjah.

After 15 minutes, there was still a huge rush in front, even though prayers had started.

At first I didn’t understand the reason for it, but later realised that they were praying in front of the mosque since there was limited space inside.

They had to stand outside under the scorching sun and pray. I felt very bad for them as they may also suffer from problems like sunstroke and dehydration on such afternoons.

They should at least have a shelter over their heads so they can have a peaceful and calm mind while praying.

I would like to request the concerned authorities look into this issue and provide the arrangements for temporary shelters in front of all mosques.
