Newlywed Haifa Wehbe says her marriage will not affect her career.

Haifa Wehbe, the biggest sex symbol on the Arabic pop scene, married Egyptian millionaire Ahmad Abu Hashimeh last month and is back in Cairo after honeymooning in Capri.

The Lebanese singer, who wore a Dolce and Gabbana dress, did not allow media at her star-studded wedding bash in Beirut. Even the guests were forbidden to take pictures during the reception. But Wehbe's office has finally released some of the much awaited wedding photos.

Wehbe said that she walked down the aisle because she is in love and added that when she met her husband for the first time she wasn't even thinking of settling down.

She said that she is proud that her husband is a self-made man. "Even I wasn't born a star. I didn't wake up and found myself famous," she said.

Wehbe said she met Abu Hashimeh three years ago at a wedding in Cairo where he introduced himself to her, saying: "I am Ahmad, your fiancé." She added that they decided to getting married was taken six months ago.

Asked if her marriage will affect her career, she said: "I don't mix my public and my private life. Ahmad respects my work and my success and so do I. At home, Ahmad and I are like normal married couple. I feel secure with him and I am ready to do things to make him happy. I want to spend the rest of my life with him."

While in Beirut, Wehbe gave an exclusive interview to Egyptian TV host Amr Adib and denied rumours about the cost of her wedding. She said the Egyptian press talked about huge figures which is not even remotely close to the truth.
