We’ve already seen the Audi A6 Hybrid at the Detroit motor show, but our spy snapped the new-look car out on the snowy streets of Germany.

The suave A6 features the same engine previewed in the upcoming A8 Hybrid. That means a 2.0-litre TFSI engine paired with an electric motor and an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission to produce a combined output of 245bhp and 480Nm of torque.

The A6 Hybrid can be driven by either the 45 horsepower electric motor or the 211 horsepower four-pot, while the estimated fuel consumption is 37.9mpg.

It can reach speeds of up to 100kph on electric power alone, has a range of 3km and can reach 0-100kph in a respectable 7.3 seconds.

Top speed is 238kph with CO2 emissions of just 142g/km.
