Another chance for De Vera

Teen Filipino actor JC de Vera is asking his bosses at his home studio for one more chance, following a legal tussle involving him, his manager and one of the top executives of the TV network he is affiliated with.

De Vera has not had any new assignments since the soon-to-be-shown Ngayon at Kailanman (Now and Forever), which is a good four months since his last show was aired on TV. The gap, some say, is due to de Vera's decision to side with his manager Anabelle Rama in her legal battle with TV exec Wilma Galvante.

"The relationship is strained for obvious reasons, but I do not regret doing what I have done. Having said that, I am still intent on patching things up and hopefully the chance to do that will be soon," he says.

De Vera, one of the more promising actors in the business, admits that he is willing to make the first move if and when he and Galvante cross paths. "At the moment, what I can do is to prove to them that I am worthy of the role that they have entrusted to me."

De Vera's partner in the afternoon soap will be Heart Evangelista, another talent of Rama's, who was also sidelined and is just now returning to work with the new TV series.
