The storm has passed. And as Dubai prepares for two major artists performing outdoors in the city over the weekend, that couldn’t have been better news for fans.

Canadian pop singer Michael Buble takes over the Dubai International Stadium tonight and tomorrow, while his compatriot, the rapper Drake, performs on Saturday, March 14.

Fans of the musicians had raised concern after windy and dusty weather hit most parts of the UAE this week, lowering visibility. Officials and doctors had earlier urged people to stay indoors as the national weather centre said the weather was expected to remain dusty for a few more days.

But by Thursday morning, the dusty winds had dissipated, bringing clear and partly cloudy weather. By the evening, the country may experience clear to partially cloudy skies while a drop in temperature is also expected, said weathermen.

“There is very little that could keep Michael Bublé fans away from his first ever show in the UAE, certainly not a little bit of wind and right now the sun is shining and the weather is sweet,” said Amy Wilkinson-Lough, the managing director of Louder Entertainment, organisers of the concerts. “We are really excited about hosting the concert at Dubai International Stadium, and the walls around the stadium mean that fans will be nice and cosy and able to enjoy every second of the show.

“People should leave plenty of time for travel and get there ahead of the concert and enjoy the food and beverage village before the show. Gates open at 5pm Thursday and 3pm Friday and Saturday.”
