J. Cole lights up Abu Dhabi’s du Arena

American hip-hop artist was the headliner on the second night of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concert series

Hip-hop producer and recording artist J. Cole put on a show-stopping live performance at the du Arena on Friday on day two of the 2017 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix After-Race Concerts. Cole performed a live rendition of his latest studio album, 4 Your Eyez Only, which had fans chanting along. He also treated fans to hits from earlier mixtapes including Cole World: The Sideline Story and his earliest work, Born Sinner.

Cole stepped in for previously announced Kendrick Lamar who pulled out for ‘personal reasons’.

Dubai’s DJ, Dany Neville opened the show for Cole who closed the show with a fireworks display.

Cole’s performance marks the second of four nights of after-race concerts. DJ Calvin Harris performed on the opening night on Thursday. They will be followed by folk band Mumford and Sons on Saturday night. Pop star Pink will close the series on Sunday night.

After-race concerts are accessible to race ticket holders only.
