Whatever Meghan Markle wears sells out straight away. And since we can’t get our hands on her designer pieces, here are some great alternatives with a much smaller price tag.
These are four of my favourite looks on Markle for less.
1. The little black dress
Markle wore this black dress at her first solo engagement as a royal. She was invited to the opening of the Oceania exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, which marked 250 years since Captain Cook’s first voyage to the Pacific.
The dress was designed by Givenchy and it’s a black velvet, appliqued midi dress with pleated sheer sleeves and is priced at $3,730 (Dh13,698). The closest alternative is this Fil Coupe Midi Dress by Nordstrom by the brand Chelsea28 and is available to order online here in the UAE.

2. The Boho chic blue and white dress
Everyone swooned over the beautiful Oscar De La Renta dress that Markle wore to the wedding of Princess Diana’s niece Celia McCorquodale and George Woodhouse at St Andrew and St Mary’s Church in Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire. The Oscar De La Renta long sleeve cocktail dress retails for $5,490. Our affordable alternative can be bought off Asos for a fraction of the price from a brand called YAS.

3. The grey curve hugging dress
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a royal visit in Ireland and she wore the most elegant, form-fitting Roland Mouret dress, which suited her beautifully. She loves the boat neck cut and this dress was so her. The Roland Mouret taupe grey Clover dress was custom made for Markle, so there is no price.
It was tough to track down an affordable version of this dress, so the closest I could get was this Weekend By Max Mara, sold on raffaelonetwork.com, which is a little steep in price, but would fit well.

4. The halter top reception dress
In my opinion, Markle’s wedding reception dress two looked even more stunning than her wedding gown. It felt more ‘her’ and more natural. The reception dress was designed by Stella McCartney and is a bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe.
Of course, very difficult to get our hands on, but we managed to find an equally beautiful alternative. It is the Zoe Ruffle Back Gown, by a brand named Jarlo.
