Tired of the same old outfits? Because Diwali is all about dressing up, why not do it differently this year? Atinirmal, the founder of Dubai’s Vesimi Boutique, gives Gulf News tabloid! his top tips on how to do this festive season in style:

LOOK 1: Getting khadi with it

Why not pair a khadi hand-woven classic kurta with unusual dhoti pants? This look is a little experimental, but what’s life without trying something different? Quirk it up.

LOOK 2: Silky smooth

Silk kurtas have been quite the conventional Diwali favourite for a while. However, adding a personalised touch by way of hand-painted symbols and motifs can really help change that look. Recent trends out of India have seen everything from comic book characters to floral patterns and cool cliche Hindi film dialogues painted on kurtas.

LOOK 3: Scarf story

Marry a nice festive colour kurta with fancy pants and a super cool scarf. Boom!

LOOK 4: Floral upside down

Forget kurta or a bandhi, this festive season try a churidar made of rich silk floral fabric to take it up a notch.

LOOK 5: OTT

For me, Diwali is super special, so why not stand out this year and glam up a neutral or brown silk ackhan kurta with a silk brocade bandhi. All eyes on you!
