Here are some new launches and deals in make-up and skincare that have caught our eye this week:
UAE residents are not lacking in luxury beauty salons, but a recent entry into the arena has piqued our interest.
Project Beauty on Al Wasl Road has touted itself as “the go to destination for ladies looking for bespoke luxury beauty treatments”. It incorporates two concepts — The Wax Studio, which offers waxing and lash treatments, and T’Sume for all your nail and facial needs.
In true Dubai style, every guest gets a lavender heated neck pillow on arrival. If you’re booked in for a treatment room service, a complimentary head, neck and shoulder massage will be added on.
Hate clinical, stark waxing rooms? Then the bedroom-like rooms at The Wax Studio (with access to Netflix) with be a welcome sight. For skincare addicts, it’s worth knowing that T’Sume offers custom facials by cult favourite French brand Biologique Recherche, and is also a retailer of the P50 range.
Project Beauty also has a philanthropic side to them. With every spend of Dh100 or more, the company will donate one reusable sanitary pad to a foundation supporting impoverished and vulnerable women in Kenya.
New in from Charlotte Tilbury
Have we reached peak eyeshadow palette? Ms Tilbury doesn’t think so. She has released her newest product called the Instant Eye Palette, which features 12 nude-toned shades arranged in four sections that correspond to four looks — The Day Look, The Desk Look, The Date Look and The Disco Look. Not only is the signature gold packaging extremely covetable, the shades are too.
Chanel Le Creme Main
While the rational part of my brain can’t justify splurging on a Chanel hand cream, the emotional part longs for it. One look at the quirky, pebble-shaped white bottle and you might understand why. The cream is made from rose wax from the Chanel Pegomas gardens in Grasse, France, obtained when the flowers are distilled. It also contains an extract from iris pallida, another flower grown at Pegomas. The cream also contains great hydrators such as glycerine, hyaluronic acid and shea butter. I might just indulge myself.
NYX Cosmetics stand-alone store
One of the best and most affordable make-up brands is now available in its own store. It’s the first NYX Professional Make-up boutique to open in the Middle East and is located in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda Mall. The shop sells a whopping 2,000 products, which is a welcome upgrade from the smaller collections available at department store kiosks. Bring on all the make-up!
