It doesn’t feel like autumn (or winter) at all in the UAE, but that hasn’t stopped the onslaught of make-up releases for the season. We’re not mad about it; in fact, these two lines are putting us in the mood for some sweater weather:
Nars’ Color Collection does the usual deep autumn shades but gives it a little edge with metallic tones and shimmer. We especially love the Dual Intensity eyeshadows (Dh145) — the blue-green Hydra, which is departure from the berry tones that dominate the season’s colour palettes, and the cool grey eyeshadow called Titania, which is perfect for everyday wear. The collection also includes a blush in the shade Blissful (Dh165), which is heavy on the berry tone but still classically beautiful.
& Other Stories puts the focus on eyes for autumn and winter with new products for brows and lashes, and metallics and neutrals for eyeshadows. The cute eyeshadow quads (Dh85) in combinations of easy-to-wear taupes and browns, bold maroons and icy purples make eye looks even simpler to achieve. The brand’s eyeshadow sticks (Dh69) are a personal favourite — simply draw on the colour and blend the edge with a clean finger.
