The critically acclaimed Tamil film Goli Soda, released in 2014, was a story about four teenagers and their search for an identity.
With Goli Soda 2, director Vijay Milton explores the lives of three young men hailing from a lower sect of society. They aspire to gain recognition of their own and the film is about the trials they face in retaining it. The lead roles are played by Bharath Seeni, Vinod and Essaki Bharath.
The trailer reveals actor Samuthrakani stating: “If you utilise well the opportunities that come your way, you become the ruler of your life; but if you miss them, you will always be the ruled one in another man’s life.”
Samuthrakani plays a key role in this action drama; he is a suspended police constable. Interestingly, director Gautham Menon has a cameo.
Milton revealed that while writing the script he had visualised Menon in the role. “It’s a character that moves the story ahead and will be an extension of Gautham’s real life character,” Milton said.
Malayalam actor Chemban Vinod Jose marks his Tamil cinema debut with Goli Soda 2.
Subhiksha, who was seen in Milton’s last film Kadagu, is once again paired opposite Bharath Seeni. She plays Inba Valli, a bubbly young woman. The supporting cast includes Rekha, Rohini and Stunt Shiva.
Goli Soda 2, produced by Rough Note Productions, releases in the UAE on June 14.
