Engineer turned filmmaker M. Nagarajan’s dream of many years is set to see reality, with his debut film Kaalakoothu releasing in India on May 25.
The action drama written by him is pivoted around two friends, played by Prasanna and Kalaiarasan.
“The story is not just about the two men, but of their families and their relationships,” said Nagarajan, who grew up in Madurai in Tamil Nadu and filmed his story there at various locations.
It’s a first for Prasanna, who is playing a rural character, a role of a different dimension and one not explored earlier, added this film buff, who found his way around the film industry not by assisting directors but by devouring films and studying online the intricacies of film-making.
Sai Dhansika and Shrusti Dange play the female leads. Justin Prabhakar is the music composer. P.V. Shankar is the cinematographer.
