You don’t need to be a fully blown claustrophobe to relate to the inner panic when caught within a small space and unable to escape.

Tamil film Antony explores a situation in a man’s life when he is trapped six feet under the ground. How will he come out? Or will he eventually come out?

Written and directed by debutant Kuttii Kumar — an ad-filmmaker and editor for more than a decade — this thriller features newcomers Nishanth and Vaishali.

Veteran Malayalam actor-director Lal plays a retired police officer and Nishanth is his son Antony — also a policeman.

The trailers of Antony reveal Nishanth trapped inside his car that has fallen into a pit about six feet below the ground.

Rekha is paired opposite Lal. Producer Veppam Raja plays the villain.

DOP Balaji, who is making his debut with the film, says the challenge lay in filming within a restricted space and under minimal lighting that included a torch and cigarette lighter. Not to forget the hot weather conditions.

Nineteen year-old R.Sivatmikha debuts as composer with her album consisting of six songs of multiple genres.

Antony, produced by Antony Productions, releases in India on June 1.
