Nanditha (Attakathi) is known for dramatic roles that are not the stereotypical eye candy characters.

So, it came as a surprise to her when Telugu director Satish Vegesna offered her a role in his film, Srinivasa Kalyanam. Nanditha plays Padmavathi, a tomboy who is outspoken and quite a dare-devil.

This is Nanditha’s second film in Telugu after Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada.

Padmavathi, or Padhu as she is fondly known, loves her cousin Vasu (played by Nithin) and grows up believing that she will marry him as is the norm in Telugu culture.

What happens when Vasu falls in love with another woman? How is Padmavathi affected?

Nanditha said that her Padmavathi goes through various emotions and the challenge lay in depicting them. She also learnt to drive a motorbike.

Raashi Khanna is paired opposite Nithin. The supporting cast of fifty actors includes veterans such as Jayasudha, Prakash Raj and Sitara.

Srinivasa Kalyanam was filmed in the Godavari belt. Mickey J Meyer has scored music. Sameer Reddy is the cinematographer.

Srinivasa Kalyanam promises to be a fun entertainer from the director who won the National Award for his previous film, Sathamanam Bhavathi. It releases in the UAE today.
