Twenty nine years ago, a newcomer directed Nagarjuna in his maiden film titled Shiva. The film went on to become a cult classic, winning three Nandi awards and a Filmfare Award. Ram Gopal Varma thus entered the Telugu industry.
Varma now returns with Nagarjuna in Officer, an action drama that follows the life of a real police officer. Nagarjuna plays KM Prasanna, an IPS Officer from Karnataka who was appointed Chief of Special Investigation Team to investigate a highly reputed police officer of Mumbai. From the trailers and the tag line, ‘Cops were never this scary’, it appears that Nagarjuna is playing one tough policeman.
Debutant Myra Sareen plays a crucial role. The film was predominantly shot in Mumbai. Ravi Shankar has composed music. Cinematography is by Bharat Vyas N and Rahul Penumatsa.
