What happens in the life of a little boy — Aravindan — who is abandoned by his mother inside the Mookambika temple of Kollur town?

A good Samaritan (Sreenivasan) raises the child, who grows up yearning to find his long-lost mother.

Written and directed by M.Mohanan, Aravindante Athithikal features Vineeth Sreenivasan as Aravindan.

The story picks up slowly as we get to know Aravindan, his friend (Aju Verghese) and his relationship with his foster father.

With the arrival of Varada (Nikhila Vimal) and her mother, (Urvashi) into Aravindan’s lodge, the story is infused with laugh-aloud moments. Veteran actress Urvashi, who is great at tickling the funny bone, entertains with a delightful performance.

Vineeth’s Aravindan masks his inner pain behind a cheerful and kind personality. If only more emotional inputs in the writing had been explored to emphasis the trauma of a child, who feels betrayed by his mother, this could have been a heart-touching story.

Predictable and with romance thrown in, there is nothing new or brilliant in Aravindante Athithigal. It’s another feel-good entertainer.
