UAE's highest mountain will have the world's longest and highest zip line by the end of this year.

The announcement by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) doesn't reveal the actual length of the zip line for now.

Things you should know about this new zip line

1. The zip line will open in the first week of December, 2017 and will accomodate 250 people per day.

2. It will be one of a kind with a focus on eco-tourism using solar energy and locally sourced materials

3. The zip line is planned to be longer than 28 football fields.

4. The current Guinness World Record for the longest zip line of 2,200 metres is held by 'The Monster' in Puerto Rico, which is the one this unnamed zip line plans to challenge.

5. Jebel Jais is around 1930 metres in height and is also the location of UAE's first zip line, Via Ferrata (470 metres long)

6. The world's highest zip line now is The Tyrolienne in France at an altitude of 3,230 metres.
