The food and service at this iconic hotel leaves much to be desired

It’s not easy being iconic. It takes something special to gain icon status, but to maintain it requires exceptional effort. And if there’s one thing Atlantis, The Palm is, it’s iconic.

This is evident walking into the Asateer Ramadan tent, where you’re greeted by a vast buffet iftar spread that is truly impressive. There is everything you’d expect, from the usual mezze, mains including ouzi and Arabic desserts, to the unexpected: a fun tahini fountain, ice creams and an interactive sweets station.

Unfortunately, the food and service leaves much to be desired, and the venue is also lacking in ambience.

That said, this is Atlantis, so maybe our expectations were just too great.
