There are few things more pleasant in life than waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee or catching the scent of a beautiful flower. For people with anosmia, these could be pleasures they might have to forego for a while. Anosmia is the loss, or a change in the sense of smell.

The sensation can sometimes cause unpleasant changes, such as experiencing the smell of burnt toast. It can also change the way things taste. Causes include a cold or flu, sinusitis or allergies, but luckily it isn’t usually serious and may get better in a few weeks or months.
