The Hidden Love actress revealed she has received better offers
After Chinese actress Zhao Lusi accused her agency KU media of gaslighting, emotionally and financially exploiting her, especially during her illness, several from the Chinese entertainment industry came forward and expressed their support for her.
Actress Yao Jingshu, who worked with Lusi in Los Angeles, was among the first to voice her support. "I'm just an unknown actor who played a scene with her. From what I've seen, she's professional, approachable, enthusiastic, beautiful, and loves to laugh. Haters’ words are scary."
Adding to the chorus of support is Lu Laoshi, the producer of the hit drama Gen Z (Houlang). He shared his own experience of working with Zhao and the behind-the-scenes challenges she faced. "She’s a gifted talent, I hope this girl continues to thrive, and I’m very supportive of whatever path she takes, whether it’s still acting or not." Lu also revealed that he had hoped to cast Zhao in a new project last year, but negotiations with KU Media complicated the process. "I’ve been in touch with Lusi and last year there was actually an invitation for a new drama. At that time I visited her on set and she really liked the project. But later after communicating with the platform they told me: actually Lusi’s feedback isn’t the most important, the most important is whether you can deal with her agent and company."
For Lu, Zhao’s value as an artist has never been in question. "I strongly agree with the statement that she is a naturally gifted talent. I hope girls like her will continue to thrive. No matter what path she takes, whether she remains an actress or not, she will always have my full support."
Meanwhile, Zhao Lusi held another broadcast, where she spoke to fans. Addressing the ‘blacklisting’ warnings that she had received from KU agency, she said on the contrary, “I actually got more offers. More better roles and more are reaching out to me. Whether I act or not, is my choice. I also have more things to focus on." She also hit back at a user who told her "to die" if she was so depressed. "I want to watch you make a fool of yourself. I don't want to make you happy. I want to ruin your day instead."
