According to the late director's wife, the lead actress refused to promote her new film

Malayalam Actress Ahaana Krishna is under fire for her alleged absence in promoting her upcoming film 'Nancy Rani,' directed by the late Joseph Manu James.
According to a report in Mathrubhumi English, Nyna, the director's widow, expressed her disappointment at a press meet in Kerala, claiming, "I had spoken to Ahaana. The PRO and production team also tried to reach out... Given the circumstances, humanitarian consideration should prevail. She should have cooperated."
Joseph Manu James died unexpectedly on February 24, 2023, at the age of 31, reportedly due to hepatitis.
Despite his untimely demise, Nyna took charge to ensure the film's completion and release. She emphasised that all financial agreements with Ahaana had been settled, adding, "We have given everything we promised... If there are any losses, we will bear them ourselves."
Actor Aju Varghese, who also stars in 'Nancy Rani,' acknowledged the challenges faced, stating, "I never thought this film would see the light of the day. And it's here that we have to credit Manu's wife and her father for it."
'Nancy Rani' is scheduled to release in theaters in Kerala on April 18, 2025.
