Ted Lasso is an enigma. People who don't watch it, are always confused to see the volatile reactions about the show. And...so many things seem to just happen.

And, happen they will. Season 4 is getting ready, folks. The show is officially back in production for its highly anticipated fourth season, with filming now underway.

After wrapping up Season 3 with Ted’s return to Kansas, the new chapter fittingly kicks off in Kansas City, star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis’s hometown, before heading back across the pond to London.

The original dream team returns in full force: Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are all confirmed to reprise their beloved roles.

But there are fresh faces on the pitch too. According to Deadline, Grant Feely, best known as young Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi, will take over as Ted’s son, Henry. Meanwhile, new additions Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern are set to join the cast — with several expected to play key roles on AFC Richmond’s newest endeavor: a women’s football team.

Yes, that’s right, Season 4 shifts focus to women’s soccer, with Ted now coaching a second-division squad. According to Apple TV+, this season will see Ted and his new team take “leaps of faith” and embrace the unexpected, both on and off the pitch.

No release date has been confirmed just yet, but Apple TV+ promises it’s coming soon.

For the uninitiated, Ted Lasso follows an unflappably optimistic American football coach who’s hired to manage an English soccer club, despite knowing next to nothing about the sport. What he lacks in tactics, he makes up for in charm, biscuits, and belief. The show has earned 13 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and a fiercely loyal fanbase worldwide.

Created by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Hunt, the series is produced by Doozer Productions in partnership with Warner Bros., and is based on characters originally developed for NBC Sports promos.

So dust off your AFC Richmond scarves, Season 4 promises a brand-new team, the same old heart, and plenty of reasons to believe.
