What we know about the link-up between Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Indian politician Raghav Chadha

It was spoken about in hush-hush tones until Sanjeev Arora, an Indian Member of Parliament, tweeted his congratulations and wishes to his compatriot Raghav Chadha, India's youngest MP from the Aam Aadmi Party, and Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra on their "union". The tweet also led to speculation that Chadha and Chopra are engaged. Let's take you through what we know about the actress and her romance with the Indian politician.

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra — the cousin of Priyanka Chopra, who switched to Hollywood after a successful stint in the Hindi film industry — is an active actress since 2013. The actresses Meera Chopra and Mannara Chopra, who have starred in multiple Indian film industries, are also her cousins.

Some of the Bollywood movies that Parineeti Chopra has acted in include her debut 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl', which won her a Filmfare award; 'Ishaqzaade', which won her a national film award; 'Golmaal Again', 'Hasee To Phasee' and 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar'.

Chopra also has a filmography in television, with notable roles including a cameo in the Hindi soap 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay'. She has also appeared on the reality shows 'Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan' and co-hosted the TOIFA Awards and Filmfare Awards.

She may be a successful actress, but Chopra wanted to be an investment banker early in her life. She has a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from the Manchester Business School.

Raghav Chadha is a former member of the Delhi legislative assembly from the Rajendra Nagar constituency, and ex-vice chairman of the Delhi Jal Board (water supply board). He is elected to the upper house of the Indian Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Punjab.

Chadha and Chopra were first photographed outside a restaurant in Mumbai recently. A day later, the duo were spotted together in public again. This sparked rumours that Chadha and Chopra were dating.

A practising chartered accountant, Chadha is a graduate from the University of Delhi.
