Music clearly runs in her genes.
Uthra Unnikrishnan, the nine-year-old daughter of noted Carnatic singer Unni Krishnan, is making her music debut as a playback singer in Tamil film Saivam. Uthara sings Azhage azhage by composer G.V. Prakash for this Tamil family drama directed by Vijay. “Mark my words, she is a prodigy in the making,” said Prakash.
“Uthra proved with her mesmerising voice that music is not just hereditary, but a gift from the Almighty. Her voice suited baby Sara.”
Saivam features Baby Sara (last seen in Vijay’s film Deiva Thirumagal) in a significant role. Nasser plays her onscreen grandfather.
Guiding Uthra through the recording was her proud father Unni Krishnan.
Saivam is produced by Think Big Studios and is scheduled for a May release.
