India: Instagram influencer Simran Singh dies at 25, suicide suspected

Dubai: Simran Singh, a former radio jockey and popular Instagram influencer, was found dead in her Gurugram apartment on Wednesday evening. Police suspect suicide, though no note was recovered.

According to PTI and other media reports, Simran’s body was discovered after a friend staying with her alerted authorities. Police found her hanging in her room, with the apartment door locked from the inside.

While no suicide note was recovered, police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances of her death.

The family stated that Simran had been struggling with personal issues for some time, which led to her decision, and they did not hold anyone responsible, according to ANI reports. Following the post-mortem, her body was handed over to her family.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leaders Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah expressed their condolences on social media, offering prayers for Simran’s soul and strength for her family and fans. Actor and influencer Kamaal R. Khan also commented on the incident, raising safety concerns in Gurugram.

The 25-year-old content creator, affectionately known as "Jammu Ki Dhadkan" (Heartbeat of Jammu), was beloved for her lively personality and comedic Instagram videos. A well-known personality in Jammu, Simran first gained recognition at a leading radio station before pursuing independent work.

Simran Singh's final Instagram post, shared on December 13, 2024, showed her dancing on a beach in a flowing gown. The caption read, "Just a girl with endless giggles and her gown, taking over the beach."

Her sudden demise has left fans and followers in shock, with many sharing heartfelt tributes online.

The Gurugram Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
