Here’s a look at our weekend watch-list recommendations for this weekend

If your weekend plans involve doing absolutely nothing except sinking into your couch with some top-tier entertainment, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re in the mood for edgy spies with trust issues, suburban moms turning into drug lords, or Bridget Jones proving once again that life just won’t let her be happy, there’s something for everyone. Or how about if you want to hate-watch something so staged it hurts? Meghan Markle’s got you. Here’s a look at our weekend watch-list recommendations for this weekend:
Our eternally adorable and clumsy heroine Bridget Jones is back, and life has once again thrown her into the deep end. In Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, she’s not just single — she’s widowed (apparently, breakups aren’t painful enough). Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) has tragically died on a humanitarian mission, leaving Bridget to navigate single parenthood, emotional limbo and existential dread. But don’t worry, she’s not totally alone. Her ever-meddling friends are still around, and, somehow, so is Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant), because chaos is always a part of the Bridget package. Expect tears, tantrums and a whole lot of drama.
This compelling show is the Good Girls equivalent of Hindi web series—a thrilling, sharply written crime drama where regular women stumble into the drug trade and discover they like the power it brings. The casting is perfect, with every woman exuding fiery energy and a rebellious streak. Seasoned actors Shabana Azmi, Shalini Pandey, Nimisha Sajayan, Anjali Anand, and Jyothika bring their A-game, seamlessly blending humor with high stakes. The series is also packed with biting social commentary, corporate corruption, and domestic drama, all wrapped in genuine humor. It also explores the reluctant camaraderie that develops among women as they navigate crime, survival, and ambition together. And watch out for those kitchen-table strategy meetings—no conversation is ever just about lunch.
With Love, Meghan should feel like a relaxing blend of Martha Stewart’s aesthetics and Jamie Oliver’s accessibility, but every scene is so painstakingly orchestrated to showcase how lovely, amiable and down-to-earth Meghan Markle is that it borders on exhausting. Her friendship dynamics feel lopsided — her hairdresser bestie exists to marvel at her cucumber-chopping skills, although Mindy Kaling, thankfully, brings some much-needed authenticity. Watching her arrange fruit in semi-concentric circles with flowers from a non-existent garden was the final straw. If the goal was relatability, this missed the mark. But if you are looking to hate-watch a cringe-inducing series, this is a great pit stop.
If you’re over the wave of dark, corpse-filled content and need something that won’t leave you questioning life, Be Happy might just be your next watch. Abhishek Bachchan ditches the vanity projects to play a single dad hustling to get his talented daughter onto India’s biggest dance reality show. With a cast featuring Nora Fatehi, Johny Lever, Nassar, Harleen Sethi, and the adorable Inayat Verma, this one’s got all the makings of a feel-good, high-energy ride. In all, this father-daughter drama directed by Bollywood choreographer Remo D’Souza might just be the wholesome pick-me-up we all need.
Dope Thief is the kind of crime drama that makes you wonder—how long can you cheat the system before it turns on you? Ray (Brian Tyree Henry) and Manny (Wagner Moura) have a hustle that’s been working like a charm—posing as DEA agents to rip off small-time drug dealers. But when they unknowingly mess with a major narcotics ring, their once-lucrative con spirals into a full-blown survival game.
