Fans got their first glimpse of the cover art and tracklist
Taylor Swift is at it again, and yes, she’s making the world stop scrolling. The pop queen has officially announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, dropping in October. From glitter orange vinyl titled Sweat and Vanilla Perfume to deluxe CDs and cassettes, this era is already dripping with drama and flair before anyone even presses play.
The reveal was pure Swift energy: Instagram announcements and a live debut on the “New Heights Show” podcast, co-hosted by her Super Bowl champ boyfriend Travis Kelce (because, of course). Fans got their first glimpse of the cover art and tracklist, which includes a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.
Swift promises that this album is more than just music—it’s a carefully curated, high-energy, joy-fueled peek behind the curtain of her Eras Tour life, crafted to perfection with her longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.
Taylor Swift isn’t playing around. The Life of a Showgirl hits October 3, and yes, it comes dripping in drama. Fans can snag glitter orange vinyl cheekily titled Sweat and Vanilla Perfume, deluxe CDs, and even cassettes, all up for grabs on her official website.
Swift went full multi-platform flex, dropping the album cover and tracklist on Instagram and the “New Heights Show” podcast, co-hosted by her Super Bowl champ boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. And yes, as the podcast aired, the deluxe album covers went live online.
The record was crafted with longtime hits-makers Max Martin and Shellback, and the title track gets an extra pop boost with Sabrina Carpenter. High-profile collabs? Check.
Swift says the album channels the electric joy of the Eras Tour, promising “bangers” born from a dramatic, effervescent place in her life. "This album is about what was going on behind the scenes of my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” she said. “It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervesence has come through on this record. And like you said, bangers."
This isn’t a 'data dump', Showgirl has 12 carefully chosen tracks, and that’s it. Swift insists every song belongs, perfectly curated like the puzzle it is. "There’s not a thirteenth, there’s not other ones coming. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time. I also wanted it to be every single song is on this album for hundreds of reasons, and you couldn’t take one out and it be the same album, you couldn’t add one and be… It’s just right," she said.
