Fans speculate a Sabrina Carpenter collaboration in the album
Swifties, unite!
Good news for Taylor Swift fans: A new album is on the way. And it’s called: The Life of a Showgirl. The announcement came on August 12, and the pre-orders are available on the singer’s official website now.
The excitement has reached a peak. Before the official album announcement, social media was already full of anticipation. Fans were abuzz with rumors that Sabrina Carpenter, who has been turning heads with hits like Espresso, might be teaming up with Taylor Swift on the upcoming release. The speculation kicked off when Carpenter’s website mysteriously mentioned August 12.
The Swiftie frenzy didn’t stop there. Big names like Netflix, Walmart, and even the Empire State Building’s Twitter account joined the excitement, all hinting that a new Taylor Swift era is just around the corner. Everyone’s eager to see what the pop superstar has in store next.
As the buzz reaches a fever pitch, Swift is set to appear on a podcast hosted by her partner, NFL star Travis Kelce. We will probably hear more about the album on the podcast.
This kind of excitement is no surprise, Swift’s albums have always created a massive splash. By May 2025, she’s sold a staggering 116.7 million album units in the US., including 54 million pure sales. She holds records as the solo artist with the most weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and as the female artist with the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, tied for the most No. 1 debuts on the Billboard Hot 100, alongside Ariana Grande.
Swift is also the first artist to have five albums simultaneously in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department (April 19, 2024), set new records, becoming the first album to hit one billion Spotify streams in its first week. It topped charts worldwide—Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK—and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album stayed at the summit for 17 weeks, marking Swift's longest-running No. 1 album.
The Tortured Poets Department was the global best-seller of 2024, moving 5.6 million copies, with singles like Fortnight making history as Taylor became the first artist to dominate the top 14 spots of the Billboard Hot 100 in one week. The follow-up single, I Can Do It with a Broken Heart, peaked at No. 3.
With The Life of a Showgirl on the horizon, Swifties have every reason to be thrilled—Swift's next chapter promises to be just as groundbreaking.
