Dubai: Hold onto your popcorn — Superman just landed in Dubai, and he’s not messing around. In a supercharged twist on one of The Dubai Mall’s most iconic sights, one of the famed divers in the Waterfall Fountain has been reimagined as the Man of Steel himself — red cape, signature “S” emblem, and all.

Yes, Clark Kent has officially ditched the phone booth for the UAE’s biggest mall.

The cape-sporting Diver is here to mark the regional premiere of Superman, DC Studios’ much-anticipated reboot directed by James Gunn. Ahead of the film’s official release in cinemas across the region on July 10, Dubai is rolling out the red (and blue) carpet in pure blockbuster fashion.

The celebrations are soaring sky-high — literally. Tonight, around 8pm, look up to see the Burj Khalifa lit up with a spectacular Superman tribute that promises to be as bold as the hero himself.

Meanwhile, inside The Dubai Mall, media insiders and influencers will flock to Reel Cinemas for an exclusive premiere screening, where capes are optional but admiration is mandatory.

And don’t worry if you miss tonight’s show — the Superman Diver will be flexing his superhuman pose at the Waterfall Fountain until July 31. So yes, your Insta grid just got a lot more heroic.

The film, a fresh take on the OG superhero, marks DC Studios’ first official cinematic outing in the new universe led by Peter Safran and James Gunn. Expect epic action, irreverent humor, and (naturally) a dose of hope, heart, and humanity.

Catch Superman in cinemas, Dolby, and HDR by Barco starting July 10. As for the Diver? He’s already saving the day — one selfie at a time.
