A laid-back tale of village life in this weekend’s Tamil release
As the name suggests this Tamil film is about a group of youngsters who are laid back. What makes matters worse is that this group is often at loggerheads with the village elders. If the elders are busy organising a temple festival, you can be sure that the spoilers will be Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam.
“The two groups often end up quarrelling over something trivial and there lies the humour,” said director Ponram, former associate of Tamil director Rajesh M.
After his last success with Ethir Neechal, Siva Karthikeyan plays Bose Pandi, the leader of VVS.
“Bose is a happy-go-lucky guy, but irresponsible and idles away time,” continued Ponram, who wrote the story after being inspired by life in his village in Usillampatti.
Sathyaraj plays Sivanandi, leader of village elders. Bose and Sivanandi don’t see eye to eye on anything, and when Sivanandi’s daughter falls in love with Bose Pandi, the story gains momentum.
Telegu actress Divya makes her Kollywood debut with VVS as Sivanandi’s daughter.
