Mirattal is ready for release
Tamil film Mirattal, directed by R. Madesh and starring Vinay and Sharmila Mandre, is ready. Produced by Majestic Multi Media, the script is by Madesh, who has worked with director Shankar as associate director on the sets of Gentleman and Jeans. Other cast members include Pandiarajan, Santhanam, Ganja Karuppu and Prabhu. Vinay makes a comeback to Tamil films after three years. He was last seen in Modhi Vilayadu in 2009.
Music is by Praveen Mani.
“The film is an action comedy,” says Madesh. “While portions of the film have been shot in London, the song sequence for Radio Radio was shot in Bath, in the UK, a town known for its hot springs.”
Mirattal also marks the entry of actress Sharmila Mandre into the Tamil film industry.
“My character has several variations to it giving me scope to perform. She is an independent minded girl, who after studying in London returns to India, where her brother controls all her movements. She finds this stifling and does a lot of things secretly, including falling in love,” says the former model.
Despite the new language posing a challenge, Mandre says she was quick to grasp the language. “With Madesh sir’s encouragement, I was able to deliver my lines,” she adds.
Mandre says she’s know her co-star Vinay since her modelling days.
Trained in the south Indian dance Kathak since the age of three, she says she’s always aspired to be in films ever since her school days when she would watch a film every Friday.
