Director Boban Samuel says there are also funny moments in the film

The tagline for the movie Vikadakumaran reads “Brilliant idiot”.
Director Boban Samuel says it describes the protagonist, Binu Choorezhan, played by Vishnu Unnikrishnan.
Choorezhan is a lawyer from a village along the Tamil Nadu border. As much as he dreams of battling it out in the Supreme Court, his life is full of struggles as he works through small court cases. A brilliant guy though, Choorezhan ends up doing stupid things.
When Choorezhan takes on a hit-and-run case involving a rich man, it could become the realisation of his dream.
Vikadakumaran, scripted by Y.V. Rajesh, soon becomes a court room drama. Samuel adds that there are several hilarious moments for the audience to enjoy.
Unnikrishnan, who shot to fame with his lead role in Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, was initially apprehensive about playing a lawyer.
“Only after my director assured me that Choorezhan is a small town advocate and the role involved a casual approach, was I confident to take it up,” said Unnikrishnan.
Manasa Radhakrishnan, who grew up in the UAE and was last seen in Asif Ali’s film Kaattu, is paired opposite Unnikrishnan. She plays Sindhu, who manages a canteen within the court premises.
The supporting cast includes Indrans, Jinu Joseph, director Rafi, Baiju, Rosin Jolly, Tamil actor Arul Das and comedian Dharmajan Bolgatty.
Vikadakumaran releases in the UAE on April 12.
