The beautiful Jaya Prada is excited, but more than that, nervous.

The countdown has begun for the release of Uyire Uyire, her nephew Siddhu’s first film, which she has co-produced with former politician Amar Singh.

Uyire Uyire is a remake of hit Telugu film Ishq and is directed by A. Rajasekar, who entered the industry with the Tamil-Telugu bilingual, Sathyam/Salute, a Vishal starrer.

“There have been love stories about lovers eloping and uniting,” says Rajasekar. “But Uyire Uyire is a love tale that celebrates love with the family. It’s not just about love between two individuals, but also about their love being accepted by their families.”

“Marriage is a colourful festival that everyone in the family rejoices together,” adds Rajasekar.

Uyire Uyire features Siddhu as Rahul, who is in love with Priya.

Having watched the original Ishq, Siddhu says his debut role was not much of a challenge. Hansika Motwani, who is paired opposite him, says that Priya is a bubbly girl like her.

“It’s a fun-loving film that will make you fall in love again.”

Telugu music composer Anoop Rubens marks his Tamil cinema debut and he has made Prada sing a song for the five-song album.

Bollywood’s Adnan Sami has sung the song O Priya Priya with Chinmayi and Jawed Ali has rendered Listen To My Heart, with Prada. R.D. Rajasekhar has handled the camera. Uyire Uyire releases on April 1 in India.
