The evolution of Jijo Antony

Despite its scientific-sounding title, Darwinte Parinamam (Darwin’s Evolution) is a revenge saga, says director Jijo Antony.

Playing the lead roles are Prithviraj as Anil Anto, an everyday man who moves to Kochi with his pregnant wife, Amala, played by Chandini Sreedharan of KL10 fame.

As they begin life in a new place, something unfortunate happens, shattering their joy. Anil crosses paths with a don, Darwin, who rules over Kochi.

Chemban Vinod Jose plays Darwin.

“However, the treatment [of] this revenge drama is different and the style of narration new,” adds Antony, who entered the industry with Konthayum Poonoolum. This is his second film. Darwinte Parinamam was written by Antony and scriptwriter Manoj Nair.

“There is romance, action, comedy and drama in good measure,” Antony says.

Who is the hero and who is the villain, as Anil and Darwin lock horns? That question forms the rest of the story.

The cast includes Shammi Thilakkan, Mammu Koya and Shoubir.

Sankar Sharma makes his debut as a composer — don’t miss the romantic track Kaathangal Kinavil. Abhinandan Ramanujam is the cinematographer.

Darwinte Parinamam is produced by August Cinemas and releases in the UAE on April 7.
