Shravan Mukesh, the eldest son of actors Mukesh and Saritha, is ready with his first film. His debut film Kalyanam, directed by Rajesh Nair, is a love story set in the ’90s.

“In the absence of mobile phones in that era, expressing love was not easy,” said Nair, who last directed Salt Mango Tree, a comedy.

Mukesh Jr plays Sharath, a boy next door, and is paired opposite Varsha Bollamma. Sreenivasan and Mukesh play supporting roles.

“Getting into Sharath’s shoes was quite a challenge since he is exactly the opposite of me,” said the doctor resident of UAE.

Kalyanam is scheduled for a February 9 release in India.
