Prakash Raj has an appetite for directing.

As a stage actor he has worked in all four south Indian languages and in Hindi.

Now he dons the director’s hat for a Bollywood film, Tadka, starring Nana Patekar, Shriya Saran, Ali Fazal and Taapsee Pannu, a remake of the hit Malayalam film Salt & Pepper, directed by Aashique Abu, about a middle-aged couple who bond over food.

Last year he directed the same film in Tamil (Un Samayal Ariyal), Kannada (Oggarane) and Telugu (Ulavarcharu Biryani) versions.
