Onam 2022: South Indian superstars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Rashmika Mandanna wish fans on festive occasion

Malayalis around the world are celebrating Onam on September 9. The harvest festival is celebrated based on the Malayalam calendar, and usually falls between August and September each year. Flower arrangements called 'athapookkalam', Onam 'sadya' - a feast which includes over 15 items - and ethnic clothing mark the celebrations. While the festival has its origins in HIndu mythology, Onam is celebrated by all Malayalis.

Malayali stars also took to social media to share their wishes. Onam is usually accompanied by festive movie releases, and Mohanlal shared new posters from his upcoming films Monster and Alone along with his festive wishes for fans.

Mammootty, who celebrated his 71st birthday on Wednesday, took to social media to wish fans on the occasion of Onam. The post featured the star in a traditional outfit.

Stars including Dulquer Salman also wished their fans on the annual harvest festival, tweeted: ''Wishing all of you a Happy Onam !!!''

Actor and producer R Madhavan took to his social media to share a picture of himself with the message: “Wish you all a very HAPPY ONAM!!!”

South Indian actress Sai Pallavi was working on Onam, but she did take the time to wish fans on social media. She tweeted: “Onam Ashamasakal to all you lovely people. May you be immersed in joy, spread love and pls share Sadhya with friends like me who don’t have access to it."

National Crush of India, Rashmika Mandanna wished her fans and tweeted “Happy Onam you guysssss.”

South Superstar Mahesh Babu wrote, "Wishing a very happy Onam to everyone celebrating! May the festive spirit always prevail," while Vijay Sethupathi too shared a Onam greeting on Twitter.
