How do you explain a phenomenon like Mohanlal, one of Kerala’s biggest actors?
Thirty artists from Kerala will touch down Dubai to demystify how Lalettan, as he’s fondly called by his fans, became one of Kerala’s top stars, in a show, Vismayam 2016.
Their four-hour-long show will be held on April 8 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The performers will pay a tribute to Mohanlal by taking viewers through Lal’s hit scenes from his films, especially his blockbusters from the 1990s, and his chart-busting songs.
Actor and classical dancer Vineeth, who acted alongside Mohanlal in their romantic tragedy Kamaladhalam, actresses Priyamani and singer M G Sreekumar, who has sung majority of Lal’s songs, will perform on stage, while actresses such as Ambika, Meena, Bhawna and R Madhavan will attend the show.
Born as Mohanlal Viswanathan Nair, the 55-year-old actor made his debut in 1978 with the film Thirunottam, but it was his evil act in Manjil Viranja Pookal in 1980 that put him on the acting map. The National-Award winning actor, who has multiple homes in Dubai, has acted in over 250 films.
